This Is How My Story Began

Like some of you being a hairstylist is my second career. I originally went to school for Public Relations and Advertising with a minor in business marketing. In my mind I was going to be a successful business woman, owning my house, and making 6 figures by the time I was 25. Instead I was laid off, living with my parents, and depressed about life.

Finally Finding Myself

After a pep talk from my Mom, encouragement from friends and family I decided to go to cosmetology school. If I am really honest with myself that is what I always wanted to do. When I was 9 years old there is a picture of me pretending to style my father's hair.  I pin curled my grandma's hair almost every Saturday in my teenage years, and in high school I almost missed prom doing hair and makeup for my friends. The writing was on the wall since I was a little tot!

However I was directed in another path because I was told hairstylist don't make money, there is no retirement plan in this field, or cosmetology isn't a real career. Well, I am here to tell you that isn't true. After 10 years of being in the industry I am making 6 figures, saving for my retirement, have a large clientele, and I am coaching hairstylist on how to become 6 figure hairstylist.

What Inspires Me

I absolutely love what I do because I am part of the empowerment process for women and beauty entrepreneurs. I have the privilege of being involved in weddings, proms, milestone birthdays, red carpet events, and increasing self esteem. I am able to share my knowledge with my fellow beauty entrepreneurs and see their business flourish and that makes me burst with happiness.

My career has become what I want it to be and much more because I didn't follow what people had to say.

Now that I said my story I want to leave you with one of my favorite quotes.

Don't downgrade your dream just to fit your reality. Upgrade your conviction to match your destiny."

"I was told hairstylist don't make money...

It isn't a real career."
